Occasionally we dive head-first into our fantastically rich archive (abundant with some jaw-dropping and even corny designs!). Every time we resurface a little wiser and a lot happier. One of our deep dives inspired us to make this fantastic big pattern jacket, a simultaneously fresh and retro piece of garment.

The classic Norwegian eight-petal rose, the cross known from the Setesdal and Cortina pattern, the lice pattern, Norwegian-made pewter buttons, 100% wool, all merged into a tantalizingly fresh jacket. There is a note of both the 50s and the 60s in this jacket. The design elements are amplified, the colors are bold. The Vegard jacket is loud-and-proud.

“Vegard” is a Norse masculine given name meaning both “protection” and “home”. A suitable name for a warm jacket strongly rooted in Norwegian design history.

Lightweight wool, what's this? Our premium yarn from South American crossbred sheep, produced exclusively for Dale of Norway. This light and soft yarn is perfect for mid-layer garments requiring a lighter and softer feel. To make it machine washable it undergoes a revolutionary new wool treatment using natural non-toxic salts. Machine wash using wool-cycle.
Fiber diameter: 27 micron

Dale of Norway is synonymous with excellent quality, design and craftsmanship. Since 1879 the people of Dale have been crafting unique yarns and knitwear, and today they are proud to be the world"s leading brand of authentic and exclusive Norwegian knitwear.

Their designs are inspired by the magnificent nature that surrounds them and by their love for the mountains and the great outdoors. Norwegians have long traditions in wearing knitwear for both sport and leisure, and a woollen sweater from Dale of Norway is for many the obvious choice while enjoying nature and mountain life.
