Autumn,

and this craving for comfort

You feel it before you even see it. One morning, mist on the windows, the window staying shut a little longer, the duvet holding you back five more minutes. Autumn doesn’t really announce itself, it just settles in — and with it comes that slightly childish but stubborn urge to hunt down draughts, eat something heartier, and make the house soft again.

In Scandinavia, nobody ever tried to fight that. Winters are long over there, so you might as well learn to live them well — a sheepskin at the foot of the bed, a throw never far from the sofa, soft lamplight instead of the overhead one. Nothing complicated about it, really. It’s just an idea of comfort that ended up feeling obvious.

Essentials for easing into the season

Our slippers in virgin wool are part of that picture — a bit thick, warm and soft, the kind that makes peace with a damp morning at 7am. The clogs hold up all year, sturdy and insulating without you ever really thinking about it — which is maybe their greatest quality. And then there’s the throw, the one that never quite gets put away, drifting from one armchair to the other depending on the mood.

As for jumpers and cardigans, this is the in-between season — not quite summer, not yet real cold. You want something warm enough for the morning that won’t have you overheating once the sun breaks through in the afternoon — and above all, something that lets you move freely, without feeling bundled up.

None of this is a luxury

Just objects and clothes that last, that you actually wear, and that don’t end up buried in the back of a closet after three washes.
